You can offer just Cameo products, offer all brands we offer, or you may offer a mixture of the them ...it is your choice. You can also set your own retail prices for higher earnings if you so choose. It will be YOUR business and we will not interfere with the exception of our business guidelines and rules as stated here. The highest standards of business ethics are expected to be used by all Dealers/Instructors/Reps/Craft Vendors (affiliates). Business Guidelines & Rules: 1 . To become a affiliate, your opening order must total $200.00 or more at US retail price (about $118 wholesale cost plus $10.75 s&h) which would start with an inventory or order minimum of 75 paints, or 5 starter kits, or one or two of the larger kits, or any combination of products to reach that. After that, there is no minimum order or quota amount to maintain which means you can order as often as you need to in order to serve your customers as quickly as possible and not worry about putting together a large enough order instead. We recommend that you pre-sell to others (using a catalog or catalogs - as above) to obtain a combination of orders to total at least this amount...or ideally $1,000 USD for a full discount because it just works out much more economically for you if you do. You would be surprised how many people will be willing to help you get started and you can announce your new business this way to all of your friends and family this way, too. It would be a true shame if your friends, neighbors, or siblings were buying from someone else because you never told them you were a dealer! It happens!!! 2. We must get a copy of your business license and/or state sale tax permit. Otherwise, we must charge you 5.5% sales tax on the retail amount of your orders. 3. To keep your wholesale account, you agree to order regularly to replace the inventory you have sold, or to build up a greater inventory for your customers to choose from at a rate you can manage. If no further orders are received for 3 months your wholesale privileges may be forfeited. There is no minimum order amount to stay in active status and no quota amounts to maintain. However, if you are not replacing some inventory at least regularly then you are not building or working your business. Please be aware that if you are hospitalized, suffer a tragedy or other major problem, you can just let us know to keep your discount account available for later when you can return to selling and ordering. 4. Once you become an affiliate, it is suggested that you order a minimum of 2 of each item for a starting inventory. However, to receive Star Dealer status, you must order enough paints or supplies at a time or enough patterns at a time, etc., to demonstrate you are ordering as a dealer and not strictly for personal use, though you can use the wholesale products for demonstration, painted samples, or to sell as kits, etc. with no problem. 5. Any products purchased at wholesale can be returned for replacement by the affiliate within 30 days only if they are defective and a Return Merchandise Authorization and number is provided by us and clearly marked on the outside and inside of the box the items or order are mailed back to us in. Note that we do not provide refunds for shipping nor provide no-cost return shipping, but will replace defective items and ship them to you at no cost once the items are received back. Note that all affiliates are expected to replace their customers defective tips as needed and upon request. The tips are so dependable that is happens very rarely anyway, but obtaining at least a small supply of extra ballpoint paint tips is very wise. Customers often cannot wait for a tip order to fix a broken or defective tip so keep them in stock and encourage them to order extras--just in case they manage to break one by dropping it, etc.. Note: we have needed to replace only 2 or 3 defective tips per year so far and about the same number of broken ones but the package carriers seem to go through clumsy periods from time-to-time. 6. Develop and build a true sales business. Obtain a business banking account and the appropriate permit(s). Obtain and use accounting software. We must have your state & local sales tax license number for our records if your state has sales taxes. As soon as it is applied for, you can start buying wholesale as long a we receive a copy of the application when you apply and then a copy of the certificate, once you get it, for our dealer records when it arrives. It's inexpensive to get - for example in Nebraska, it is free. In Michigan, it's only $2.00. In Oregon, you may only need a city permit and/or just a DBA registration since there is no sales tax there. Just go to your City or County Clerk's Office to apply or contact your state's revenue dept - many can be contacted online for an application if your state has sales taxes. Fax or mail us a copy so we do not have to suspend your buying account or charge you sales tax. We cannot and do not store credit or debit card info, so please complete the payment area for each fax or mail order. 7. As one of our field product reps (affiliates), you are expected to work with at least one of the following sales methods or business plans: - Dealer / Distributor Plan: Offer the opportunity locally to others to join as affiliates. Set up monthly workshops to teach the new people how to use the products so they can teach it themselves. And/or setup a large local inventory and sell products and related services to other local dealers or retail clients. - Instructor Plan: Teach classes and sell supplies to your students. Provide dates and other details of booked classes, if we request it. You do not have to use a party plan unless you want to. Teach publicly or privately...your choice. - Sales Representative Plan: Market and/or promote your business locally. Your choice of method or methods, however, in ads, you cannot use our company names or infer your business is ours. You must use your own personal or business name in this way. Use of the product names is not restricted, however, ownership of the product rights always is--so--word ads wisely. IF in doubt about your ads, just ask us to review them BEFORE you publicize/activate/launch them. We will recommend or require changes, if any are needed. - Craft Vendor Plan: Participate and demonstrate at shows, fairs, etc. and keep appropriate records. And/or consistently paint items to sell at retail or at discount. All affiliates should: - Participate in as many of these plans as possible to be really successful. - Call upon customers/possible customers and develop a good customer base. - Obtain and use accounting software. Keep good records. In other words, you must be prepared to SELL the products in exchange for buying at wholesale price. Fair and simple! Of course, all affiliates can buy for themselves and their families as long as local sales taxes (if any) is paid on those items by the affiliate to the proper local or state authority. Otherwise, we must charge you the end user tax for all of your purchases. Hence the requirement of a sales tax license, if it applies. We do not accept affiliate applications from private users. These people must order at retail because they need services we offer them. We offer many value-added services to our products and a full-service retail situation to clients that makes it worth their while to remain retail customers.
BECOME A STAR!!! Only Star Dealers receive customer leads from our many marketing efforts as long as they will promptly take care of these referral customers. To become a Star Dealer, you must have demonstrated consistent ordering, increasing sales, recruitment, or any combination of these things that show you are building your business during a qualifying period. Star Dealerships are only considered and awarded upon request. You can apply any time after your first 90 days. Just send an email to: admin@cameopaint.com with your request letter or mail it to us. You should cover the reasons why you feel you have acheived this in the letter and mention future plans, if any. Star Dealers lose this standing and the benefits thereof, if they are found to have neglected or abused their responsibility to the customer, or to the prospective customer, or to us. For this reason, you must provide your complete address, phone number, etc. to us with EVERY order so we always have your most current contact info. BECOME A DIRECT STAR!!! When your sales level starts reaching $4,000 per month or over $1,000 per order consistently, you can become a Direct Star Dealer and receive special order processing, special shared marketing opportunities, and other benefits. You do not have to become a Star Dealer first. You can even come in as a Direct Star Dealer with an inventory investment as low as $5,000 ($10k retail value) and receive Star Dealer benefits if your business plan has growth potential and/or goals.
We would be pleased to set you up as an affiliate under the above listed business rules.
